about me

Fiona Smith has a background of more than 20 years in Tibetan Buddhist teachings. She considers them the heart of her work and the inspiration for her way of Being in the world.

She trained in Core Shamanism with the Scandinavian Centre for Shamanic Studies  and embraces Shamanism as a spiritual path. Fiona is a practitioner of shamanic healing, a shamanic counsellor and a shamanic gardener. She teaches a basic introductory course to Shamanism and advanced courses.

Fiona is a trained nurse, has a degree in Women's Studies with Sociology, is qualified to teach P.G.C.E.(F.E.) and has studied Psychosynthesis, a transpersonal psychology. For more than 8 years she taught personal development courses to women from vulnerable backgrounds, both in prison and in the community. For 5 years she worked for a charity as an outreach education worker in Hackney with young people and families in crises. She has also worked for 3 years as a professional notetaker and communication support worker, at St George's Medical School in South London, supporting a profoundly deaf student attending a Bio-Medical Science degree.

Fiona holds a diploma in Craniosacral Biodynamics and qualified as a practitioner of biodynamic craniosacral therapy with the Karuna Institute in 2007. She is a registered, and insured, member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association UK (www.craniosacral.co.uk)

She is greatly inspired by the work of Franklyn Sills with whom she studied, Ged Sumner and Hugh Milne.

Fiona increasingly combines craniosacral work with her shamanic healing practice.
